Symptoms

Women with endo are often diagnosed with or have symptoms of (the bold type ones are the most typical symptoms that most women with endo have):
  • fibromyalgia (associated with joint pain and extreme fatigue)
  • internal bleeding (every month during her cycle all of the uterine lining in her body fills with blood and then releases causing internal bleeding)
  • vaginal bleeding after hysterectomy (this is caused by uterine tissue growing through the vaginal wall which fills with blood every month and releases causing what appears to be a "period after hysterectomy")
  • bloating and swelling (often to the equivalent of 3-6 months pregnant. Most endo women have to keep a set of clothes that fit during their swelling times)
  • IBS
  • PCOS
  • cramping and contracting (similar to labor at the peak of their pain every month)
  • pain during intercourse
  • pain after intercourse
  • painful breasts (cystic, lumps, etc.)
  • lower back pain
  • sharp pain shooting through the hips and down both legs
  • headaches and migraines
  • chills
  • foggy thinking
  • painful bowel movements
  • pain urinating
  • stabbing pain in the abdomen
  • stabbing rectal pain
  • stabbing pelvic pain
  • stabbing bladder pain
  • infertility (due to the blocking of fallopian tubes, hormone imbalance, damage to ovaries, and endometritis of the uterus)
  • allergies
  • gastrointestinal upset
  • constipation
  • diarrhea
  • frequent yeast infections
  • elevated PMS compared to most women
  • cysts (on ovaries, in the uterus, in the abdomen, and in the breasts)
  • abnormally heavy periods and passing of blood clots/chocolate cyst
  • sugar cravings
  • candida overgrowth
  • shoulder pain
  • gluten intolerance
  • food allergies
  • thyroid issues/cancer
  • overweight/unable to lose weight
  • scare tissue pain (the body tries to "heal" endo by covering it with scar tissue which ends up having a webbing effect which as a result binds internal organs and body parts together creating more pain.
  • lymphatic congestion
Most women with endo have elevated pain levels but there are a small percentage of women with endo that have no pain symptoms. This is rare. The pain levels of most women with endo are much greater than the pain and cramping associated with a normal menstrual cycle. If a woman without endo's pain level is a 2-4, a woman with endo's pain is usually a 6-10.
